Professional Profile

Todd Stevens began his studies in martial arts in Southwestern Michigan in the study of Uechi-Ryu-Karate in 1982 under his oldest brother who was an instructor for the highest ranking American Sensei of the Uechi-Ryu style. 

In 1995, Todd initiated his study in Aikido while attending the University of Detroit while earning his Bachelors Degree in Architecture.  Upon completion of his education in 1994, Todd moved to Colorado to pursue his number one love, skiing.  Todd has 13 years of teaching skiing and has applied his teaching experiences into martial arts instruction.

While living in Denver and working as an Architect and a part-time ski instructor, Todd briefly returned to the study of Aikido prior to becoming a member of the International Combat Hapkido Federation in 2002. 

Since 2002, Todd has studied Combat Hapkido under Master Steve Materkowski and currently holds the rank of 1st Dan Black Belt in Combat Hapkido and is an Assistant Instructor for the ICHF Colorado State Headquarters.  In addition to his study of Combat Hapkido, Todd has participated in a variety of special events giving him the opportunity to train with other great instructors and systems such as: Hoch Hoccheim’s Scientific Fighting Congress, Ground Fighting and Survival with Carlson Gracie, Kun Tao Silat with Guru de Thouars and ICHF Stick and Knife with Julius Melegrito, Combat Knife with Michael Janich,

Todd is currently part Owner and Director for a company that develops and markets innovative products to Law Enforcement and Military.  As result, Todd has been able to participate with Law Enforcement agencies in a variety of training applications in review of products or conceptual product development.  Currently, such training includes building clearing and searching and basic entry techniques.  Furthermore, Todd has also participated and organizing several force on force training and scenario events and is a big advocate for force on force training for both Law Enforcement and Civilian Markets.
